Hiring Help

You will love your e-commerce business. Once you are set up and getting orders, you're going to realize that like having a child, you created this business out of nothing and it's your baby. You'll want it to grow, and do well, and be healthy. When it grows to the point that you may no longer be able to do everything, you may want to get help. It could be a family member, a friend, or hired help.

The one thing to keep in mind when you get help is that no one will love your business like you do. While you thought nothing of spending too many hours setting it up and maybe missing some hours of sleep, others won't have the same sense of commitment that you have. When you see that others don't share the same attitude towards your company it may almost be tempting to keep doing everything yourself as long as possible, even to the detriment of your business. Many owners in the same situation sub consciously prevent their business from growing past their ability to do everything themselves.

When your business grows to the point that you can no longer do everything and maintain the level of quality you had, it's time to hire someone to help. That will require you to change your relationship with your business from doing everything to being a manager. You will have to decide what area or areas you feel you can serve best in, and get an employee or two to take care of the areas you can't.
